SIE7E_Episode 6

This episode embarks on a profound and captivating journey into Music, set in a truly exceptional location: the San Colombano Museum in the City of Bologna – Italy, thanks to the collaboration with Genus Bononiae – Museums in the City.
Within the spaces housing the extraordinary Tagliavini Collection, featuring over seventy restored antique instruments from across Europe and dating from the 16th to the 19th century, Instabili Vaganti explores music’s evocative and unifying power.
The episode is dedicated to the memory of Maestro Liuwe Tamminga, a world-renowned expert in early music and curator of the Tagliavini Collection, who passed away in April of that year.

“To us, music is something that can transcend any kind of border. It connects different cultures, distant places, past and present, building a bridge to the future – a future full of the desire to travel again, to live and experience spaces, both in our own cities and in faraway places yet to be discovered.”

The video was created by the artistic duo Instabili Vaganti, with the collaboration of the composer Riccardo Nanni. The episode was made even more special through the collaboration with the international artists from the Beyond Borders project, directed by Instabili Vaganti, who contributed by singing parts of the chorus, and the young participants of the “Generación Global” project, directed by Lucía Miranda.

Music is the sixth episode of the web series SIE7E, a project that aims to explore the various expressions of arts through the long-distance collaboration of Italian and Spanish artists. Its goal is to convey the redemptive and salvific power of art and its intrinsic cathartic function, highlighting its constant pursuit of beauty and its ability to create a poetic universe. Furthermore, the work reflects the difficult historical moment we all experienced during COVID-19, not only in contemporary theater and dance but also in society as a whole.
